My New Good Habits

I have decided to start walking more and using the car less because it not only saves money but helps me keep fit too. I am tracking the distance I walk each day. Buying a Fitbit will be helpful because I am not sure how effective these apps are. Any ideas anyone?

Doing my customer base on foot helps me combine exercise with work. It will strengthen my heart and lungs, improve my cardiovascular system and burn calories, so I can get my body into shape and lose weight. I am a working mother, so it is difficult to find the time to exercise, so this solves the problem for me.

Healthier Body, Happier You!

Making changes to what we eat makes a life-changing impact on our health. Implementing healthy eating habits that continue throughout our lives, will make a difference to our lifestyles. It does not have to be a massive change straight away, but small improvements can be introduced over time.

Eating a selection of vegetables, especially green ones because they are high in antioxidants and nutrients, will ensure we are moving in the right direction to keep us healthy. Adding whole grains, such as rice, preferable brown because it is more natural than white as less processing is involved, provides the body with a selection of vitamins. Eating healthy proteins such as fish and poultry to grow and repair the body and strengthen immunity.

Both fresh and frozen vegetables are best. Frozen are picked at the height of their season and then frozen. Freezing vegetables helps retain most of their nutrition. Cook them in a variety of ways, grill or steam, because it makes them less boring. Use them as snacks in the form of sticks or even add a healthy dip.

Adding a supplement to our diet is also a way of providing our bodies with extra health-boosting properties it needs.

What is the secret to a long, healthy and happy life? There is a simple routine that we can follow to make us healthier, feel younger and improve our mental and physical health.

There are zones throughout the world with a high number of centenarians. These are areas of Europe, Latin America, Asia and the US. What have these people done differently to everyone else? The secret is, centenarians have lived more active lives. They walk or cycle to work, take the stairs rather than the elevator. They encourage a healthy lifestyle in their social circles, and they take time to relax, de-stress and manage to balance their family life and work.

One of the main factors of a healthy life is food. In the areas of high longevity, they have something specific in their eating habits, and this is antioxidant-rich foods. These foods enable the body to fight disease and control hunger. The people do not eat until they feel full. They exercise portion control. They mostly eat plants, and rarely eat meat.

In the longevity zones, their diet contains vitamins, minerals and fibre. These can be found in fruit and vegetables. Their diet also contains omega 3 which they get from eating fish.

A way to ensure that we are getting enough of the nutrients we need, there are ways we can add healthy snacks and supplement our diet.

A Letter to Myself

Dear Louise,

There are a few things I would like you to know to improve your life.

First of all, I would like you to realise that your autistic son will be well supported and cared for. If you think how far he has come. He will have a bright future and every challenge that he comes across, he will be supported through it. He will stay safe because of the wonderful care he is getting.

Your daughter will grow up to be a wonderful woman. Give her all the support she needs with her dreams and educate her. As well as support at school, teach her how to take care of herself, fulfill her dreams and how to live a happy life. Most of all, teach her to be herself.

I want to tell you to forgive all those who have harmed you. You will suffer from bad experiences and treatment from others. When people are nasty, it is usually issues with themselves and their own problems, you are just someone to take it out on.

Keep motivating yourself each day. Fill your mind with positivity so your mind stays healthy and focused.

Set goals. Not just work goals but relationship goals. Work goals are what you want to achieve in your business. Relationship goals are how you treat people around you, where you want your relationships to go and spending time with the people you love. Also, set goals for things you want to have and what you need.

Spend a little time each day doing something you love. It can be as little as a short walk or a cup of tea in a cafe with your favourite cake.

Learn that you are responsible for your own happiness and thoughts. You are completely in control of your life and if something does not work, change it. You are not responsible for anyone else’s happiness. Let them deal with their own feelings.

Do things that you want today, there might not be a tomorrow. You don’t know how much longer you will be here.

Be kind and courteous to others. You want to keep your surroundings positive and have friends to count on. Make an effort with your friends and keep in touch, even if it only means a text message or phone call. Let them know you are thinking about them.

Do not worry unnecessarily about things. Your life will take care of itself. Worrying does not change things. Only you have the power to change things that you can change. If it can’t be changed, accept it. Things we worry about do not usually happen so deal with problems as they arise.

Be true to yourself and be kind to yourself. If something is, it is. Don’t let people take advantage of you, be fair to them and also be fair to yourself.

Always be yourself. Do not change for anyone. People have to accept you for who you are. Happiness comes from being yourself and not having to meet other people’s expectations.

Create lots of happy memories so you can look back. Keep a photo album of memories so it is easier to remember them.

Life is a rocky road so keep moving forward and things will work out fine. You will be strong enough to deal with problems and you will be able to maintain a positive outlook. Remember the Law of Attraction.
